The night of the annual purge is going to begin soon. Leo (Frank Grillo), police sergeant, is armed and drives around Los Angeles in his armoured car. Eva (Carmen Ejogo) and his teenage daughter, Cali, live in a disadvantaged area, without any protection. They are caught in their apartment and drag into the street by paramilitary men which wearing a mask, but Leo saved them after hesitations.
La nuit de la purge va bientôt commencer. Leo (Frank Grillo), un policier, est armé et erre dans Los Angeles au volant de sa voiture blindée. Eva (Carmen Ejogo) et sa fille adolescente, Cali, vivent dans un quartier défavorisé, sans aucune protection. Elles sont capturées dans leur appartement par des purgeurs portant un masque, mais sauvées par Leo qui hésite mais se porte au secours des jeunes femmes.
Shane (Zack Gilford) and Liz, his wife drive away from a gang and a man with white facepaint but their car breakdown because the fuel gas was cut as the purge begins. These four people are now in Leo’s car and he tries to kick them out but he can’t. Leo wanted to take advantage of this evening to get revenge his young son’s death. Now five, they try to survive.
This film is a sequel of American Nightmare in 2013. The productor was Michael Bay and the shooting was in Los Angeles.
