Lee Weathers (Kate Mara), a risk-assment specialist, works for a company which researches to create artificial human beings. She is called in to a secret place to investigate an incident involving a creature. A human hybrid called Morgane (Anya Taylor-Joy) raised by the scientists from birth (five years ago) to a teenager, attackes violently one of them, Dr Kathy Grieff (Jennifer Jason Leigh), in a violently loss of control. Dr Alan Shapiro (Paul Giamatti), psychologist, wants to make an interview with Morgane at first.
