BENNY & JOON. 1993 American Comedy and  romance directed by Jeremiah S.Chechik, running time 98 minutes. The famous scene of  the dance of rolls  is a Johnny Depp tribute to Charlie Chaplin in The gold rush. The film received four nominations for the Golden Globes and MTV Movie Awards in 1994. Filming took place in Spokane, Washington.

Benjamin Benny Pearl (Aidan Quinn), is the elder brother of his sister Junipon Joon Pearl (Mary Stuart Masterson),  mentally ill, since the accidental death of their parents. Sam (Johnny Depp), cinephile, is cousin with a friend of Benny. Sam and Joon  meet during a poker game at Benny and he  engages Sam  to take care of the house and  of his sister during his absence, the other people who came, remained only a day. Sam is the new Joon’s Housekeeper. Joon, stressed and may be dangerous for her and for others so it is Sam, the eccentric who is taken himself for Buster Keaton, who calm her but their relationship is not going to be easy.

 

Benjamin Benny Pearl (Aidan Quinn), est le tuteur de sa sœur Junipon Joon Pearl (Mary Stuart Masterson), atteinte mentalement ,depuis la mort accidentelle de leur parents. Sam (Johnny Depp), cinéphile est cousin avec un ami de Benny. Sam et Joon vont se rencontrer lors d’une partie de poker chez Benny et il va engager Sam à l’essai pour s’occuper de la maison et prendre soin de sa soeur pendant son absence, les autres personnes qui venaient, ne restaient qu’une journée. Joon, stressée et pouvant être dangereuse pour elle et pour les autres, c’est Sam, l’ excentrique  qui se prend pour Buster Keaton, qui va arriver à la calmer mais leur relation ne va pas être simple.
